Hello! I’m Renee, the proud owner of Young Heart Books and Toys, nestled in the heart of the Westmont area of Johnstown, PA. Growing up in southwestern Pennsylvania, I’ve always sought ways to give back to this community that holds a special place in my heart.

My passion for reading and learning led me to pursue a degree in education. After graduating, I spent 15 fulfilling years teaching in various fields, including Early Childhood Education and English. While I cherished my career, I eventually found myself yearning for a new adventure.

In October 2023, when the opportunity to purchase Young Heart Books and Toys arose, I knew it was a dream I couldn’t pass up. Owning a bookstore had always been a lifelong aspiration, and I’m incredibly grateful to be living that dream every day.

At Young Heart, my goal is to curate a thoughtfully selected collection of high-quality, educational toys and captivating books for readers of all ages—from infants to adults. Additionally, I’m thrilled to feature unique gifts crafted by talented local artisans, celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of our community.
